SamElyon’s Sports & Spa Director Receives International Recognition

Translation:

The Sports & Spa Director of the SamElyon Complex, Alexander Gruev, has been selected to represent Bulgaria in the prestigious international program “Mega Sporting Events and Economic Prosperity,” organized by the U.S. Department of State.

The program is part of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) — the United States’ leading and most authoritative exchange initiative for distinguished professionals from various fields.

The participation will take place from November 29 to December 20, 2025, and includes an intensive professional tour across five key U.S. cities: Washington, D.C., Miami, Kansas City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Within the framework of the program, delegates will hold meetings with federal and state institutions, sports commissions, Olympic centers, universities, innovation hubs, and executives of some of the most significant sports facilities in the United States — stadiums and arenas that host world championships, major leagues, and Olympic Games.

The program focuses on three key thematic areas:

  • Management of modern sports complexes and infrastructure

    (operational models, security, digitalization, sustainability)

  • Economic impact of mega sporting events on regions

    (investment, tourism, urban development, innovation)

  • Long-term planning and development of host cities

(preparation for world championships, Olympic Games, and sustainable legacy effects)

Alexander Gruev is part of an international group of experts from more than 20 countries — leaders of national sports federations, representatives of government agencies, universities, Olympic committees, specialized sports organizations, and managers of leading sports facilities worldwide. His selection represents significant recognition of both his professional experience and expertise, as well as the development and ambitions of the SamElyon Complex.

For SamElyon, this is a strong international signal and proof of the growing authority of the complex as a modern center for sport, training, events, recovery, and health. Participation in the IVLP underscores the complex’s positioning as a destination with the potential to take part in strategic global discussions on the future of sports infrastructure, sports tourism, and elite athlete preparation.
