Grand Opening of the SamElyon Complex

On June 19, 2025, the multifunctional hotel, sports-rehabilitation, and residential complex SamElion was officially opened in the town of Samokov with a ceremony.

The project is a large-scale investment by “Samel–90” JSC.

Among the official guests were President Rumen Radev, His Holiness Daniil – Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia, His Majesty Tsar Simeon II, the Mayor of Samokov Eng. Angel Djorgov, representatives of sports federations, public figures, and many local residents.

In his welcome address, President Rumen Radev stated:

“The future belongs to those nations that invest not only in high technology, economy, science, and art, but also in sports, patriotic education, and the development of children’s potential from an early age.”

He described SamElion as “a bold and visionary investment that creates real prospects for the future of Samokov and the region,” emphasizing that the project is “a symbol of the great ambitions of the transparent and innovative Bulgarian business that is now recognizing its own strength and a symbol of its noble mission in service to society.”

“This is not just a complex – there are many of those in Bulgaria. But here, there is a revivalist spirit that unites people through shared ideals,” the President added.

On this festive day, His Holiness Patriarch Daniil consecrated the complex and declared:

“This is a foundation for better development, because many people will come here – to rest, to train, to meet and communicate – and may it all serve the common good and personal salvation.”

He also offered a personal blessing to the creator of SamElion, Eng. Petar Georgiev:

“From the heart, we wish you that God abundantly grants you all His blessings – but most of all, that you adorn your spiritual home so it may become a temple of God. May His grace dwell within it, gladden you, give you life, and help you praise God with a pure heart.”

During the event, Eng. Petar Georgiev, CEO and Chairman of the Board of “Samel–90,” and the main driving force behind the realization of the complex, shared:

“I have no words to describe what I went through – from the idea of building a dormitory for the employees of ‘Samel–90’ to reaching this complex. I thank the Lord for keeping me alive to realize this dream, which began ten years ago. The construction took five. I thank the architects, the builders, the entire team – all who gave their best to make this complex a reality.”

He added: “This project is for the people of Samokov, and I will always be happy to see this hall full – especially with children, the future of Samokov, who will make use of it.”

The festive evening concluded with a concert program and a grand fireworks display – the culmination of a day where faith, effort, vision, and social responsibility came together as one.
